Role
Web & Digital Specialist / SharePoint Web Administrator.
Platform
SharePoint (public site + intranet), multi-site environment.
Project Type
Organisation website with 20+ sub-sites.
Primary Goal
Keep a large SharePoint ecosystem consistent, governable, and easy to update across many teams.
Problem
Managing a large organisation’s web presence in SharePoint becomes complex fast: multiple sub-sites, many content owners, competing priorities, and the constant risk of inconsistent navigation, duplicated content, and uneven quality. At the same time, the intranet must stay current and useful for staff—often with different content needs than the public website.
Solution (What I did)
- Managed the main website plus 20+ sub-sites, ensuring publishing quality, consistency, and operational continuity.
- Led site governance and content standards so pages followed consistent structure, layout, and update practices across the network.
- Coordinated updates across stakeholders to keep content accurate and reduce publishing friction (clear workflow, approvals, and change control).
- Maintained and improved the intranet, supporting internal communications and staff-facing information needs.
- Performed ongoing site QA to reduce issues such as inconsistent layouts, navigation drift, and outdated content.
Results
- More consistent user experience across the organisation’s SharePoint web ecosystem.
- Reduced maintenance and publishing risk through stronger governance and repeatable practices.
- Improved operational efficiency for ongoing updates across many sites and teams.
Deliverables
Publishing workflow/governance practices, IA/navigation consistency improvements, ongoing QA approach, intranet content management support.
